- Understand complexity of screens
A gap analysis to identify any components that need to be added to the Design System.
- Add common elements to the Design System via the New Components & Enhancements process
- Update product specific components in the UI to be consistent with the Design System
Plan your adoption strategy
How do you intend to adopt the Design System? Choose a strategy aligning with your development resources and schedule. Some options are:
- All at once.
- Using feature flags to allow you to replace screens one by one, then switching them all over at once.
- In parts of your application, one at a time.
- Updating some components, such as navigation, to match the Design System.
- Adjusting your colors and typography to match the design system, then replacing components gradually.
